Oh I've been in Chengdu for almost two weeks, on a special project.  Things were tough, stuff was boring and schedule was tight.  As usual, huh?  What else can it be?

But there is a lot to say.  Just a quick note:  a pretty, smart, romantic and giving girlfriend.  Can't tell you anymore at this moment, but we love each other right.  Before this happens, I'm counting on days flying back to Hong Kong, now I'm looking for excuses to stay for a few more days here.

Just a bit worried as we are living in different lifestyle (oh huh, I've visited her cousin's home already, would be visiting her own but not this time), and she had a complicated background.  Given that said, we really enjoyed the time staying together.  That's pretty much said - I can't promise her a future, and she had her own stuff to deal with (though I'd help her through, which I believe we can).

Already a sparkling love, all coming fast (gee I know her just barely one week!) and hoping it would not fade away at the same speed.  I have my own doubt, but I don't damn care about this.  We're *now* enjoying our love which we created, with bare hands.  Isn't it already something to marvel at?

Will further discuss the matter on the diary, but damn, give me time to complete the schedules, now far behind...

Nothing really special on the site, really...  plans on all kinds of site development are now held back;  yours truly simply has no time to spare on the site recently, not even the diary section (hey it's getting to a simple monthly report btw).

Yours truly shall be free by end of November, so expect something by the year end.  By then, time is always available but...  I know, my dearest, i have already lost my motive and momentum.  How can I live... without you?  I love you, as always.

 

難得有幾日假期, 但就病倒了~~~  現在都是廁紙常伴左右;  看來今年都是包雲吞賀國慶了。

但這樣困在家中, 倒也有所建樹;  終於有空閒時間花在這網頁上啦。搞了一個時鐘, 加了些內容 (其實以前都有, 但網頁死火後一直沒有再 upload);  最重要的是改了網站的 formatting, 讀文章時更加舒服。

「這不用搞很久嘛 ?!」您又錯了;  雖然 css 的基本語法是懂得, 但在 cms/geeklog 中找出控制文字的那一 part, 就真是昏倒;  網站有五個 css file, 幾百個 definition, 要找出來絕不容易。最後試到凌晨四點, 睡覺都忘了 (但就沒忘了包雲吞), 最後終於試到了, 耶~~

長遠之計, 是將不會再有更新的 streampro theme 幹掉, 換上個能 support geeklog 1.4 的 theme, 但直到現在還是沒有心水...

Oh, the RSS feed thing's got even better now.  Chinese Big5 contents is now made possible, thanks to shockwave flash player.  Now the chinese text are shown as part of the flash, thus it can now co-exist with the UTF-8 page.  Why I haven't thought of it earlier?

Also the contents have been changed to Yahoo - a more detailed coverage is now possible.  Flooded with news?  It's got almost all headlines from main newspaper in HK, so that'd be a hefty read. 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do think the more times it scrolls, the shorter time it pauses.  Is it illusion and just me?

Oh, finally managed how to put RSS feed as part of the Geeklog.


So the results? The finance news from RTHK on the left column. Though not exactly cool, I fall short on RSS contents.


To make things worse, the whole world's using Big5 encoding, while my site only supports UTF-8. So imagine integrating Big5 contents into an UTF-8 page! If you are a geek, you'd know what I mean. That's why the news are now limited to English.


In fact I'm preparing another project on "stealing" the stock quotes, preferably real-time, on the web-site. Scrolling bars are also OK.


Let me know if you've already know how. Also, any suggestion on Chinese contents with UTF-8 encoding is welcomed.
